𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐒𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟑.𝟎. is operated for the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences. The app supports member access to society communication, announcements, chats, wallet-related services, certificates, membership records, research-related activities and other digital services.
2. Information We May Collect
Depending on the services a user accesses, we may collect or process the following categories of information:
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, membership number, login identifiers and profile details.
- Membership and service records, including payments, certificates, subscriptions, wallet records, applications and transaction references.
- Communication content such as chat messages, announcements, direct messages, status posts, comments, support requests and related metadata.
- User-provided files or media, including profile photographs, status images, documents and other uploads made through the portal.

- Enable society chats, announcements, direct messages and member communication.

- Protect the portal from abuse, unauthorized access, fraud, spam and technical errors.
- Improve app performance, accessibility, reliability and user experience.
- Meet legal, financial, academic, audit and society-administration obligations.
4. Payment and Third-Party Services
Where payments or related services are used, payment details may be processed through authorized payment providers or banking/payment infrastructure. NSPSConnect does not sell user information. We only share information where necessary to provide the service, process transactions, comply with law, protect users, or carry out official society administration.
5. Chats, Status Posts and User Content
Users are responsible for the content they send, post or upload in NSPSConnect. The society may moderate, restrict or remove content that violates society rules, user safety, legal requirements, academic ethics, or platform policies. Status images and temporary posts may be automatically removed after their configured visibility period, where that feature is enabled.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as necessary to provide services, maintain accurate membership and financial records, resolve disputes, comply with legal or audit obligations, protect the system and support official society administration. Some records, such as payment receipts, certificates, membership history and official correspondence, may need to be retained even after an account deletion request.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect user information against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration or disclosure. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security. Users should keep their login details confidential and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
8. User Rights and Choices
Users may request access, correction, restriction or deletion of their personal information, subject to verification and applicable retention obligations. Account deletion requests can be submitted through the account deletion page.
9. Children
NSPSConnect is intended for society members, students, researchers, academics, professionals and users involved in scientific or educational activities. It is not primarily directed at young children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the revised effective date. Continued use of the app after updates means the user accepts the revised policy.
