History of the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences

The Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences (NSPS) is a non-profit and non-political organization of physical scientists incorporated by the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria on January 9, 2019 (CAC/IT/NO 123135). The Society provides a professional platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners in the physical sciences to collaborate, publish, organize conferences, and promote scientific development.
Inception and consultation
The process of establishing NSPS began through extensive discussions among scholars committed to strengthening research and studies in the physical sciences in Nigeria.
Name approval and public notice
After deliberation among prospective trustees, the Society adopted the name Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences. Consent and approval were obtained and publicized in national newspapers.
Incorporation
NSPS was formally incorporated with the goal of promoting research and study in the physical sciences and providing effective programs in its support.
Growth and international visibility
The Society now supports peer-reviewed journals, conferences, reviewer recognition, prizes, fellowship, and professional membership services.
Research, publishing, and collaboration

Its publication activities include the Journal of the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences, African Scientific Reports, Recent Advances in Natural Sciences, and the Proceedings of the Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences.
