Membership of NSPS is opened in these categories
Applicants must be undergraduate students enrolled in a tertiary institution recognized by the Council. A letter of recommendation or introduction from the Head of Department or another senior staff member of the institution is required. The membership fee is ₦20,000. This category grants limited rights and privileges of active membership; however, members are not eligible to hold office and are not entitled to discounts on NSPS publications or conference fees.
Apply NowApplicants who do not specialize in any core area of the physical sciences but work in a related field are encouraged to apply under this membership category. Senior Secondary School teachers of Physics, Mathematics, or Chemistry who do not meet the full requirements for Regular Membership may also apply here. The membership fee is ₦40,000. Members in this category enjoy all rights and privileges of active membership, except the eligibility to hold office.
Apply NowApplicants must possess at least a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline within the Physical Sciences. The one-time membership fee is ₦40,000, which grants full active‐member rights and privileges for one year. Thereafter, the annual renewal fee is ₦10,000.
Apply NowAny organization that encourages and promotes the study of the Physical Sciences is eligible to become a Corporate Member. The membership fee is ₦500,000, and this category confers certain rights and privileges of active membership; however, Corporate Members are not eligible to hold office. The annual renewal fee is ₦125,000.
Apply NowApplicant must have obtained a minimum of M.Sc. degree in any area of Physical Sciences. The fee is ₦ 420,000. Validity is lifetime.
Active members of the Society may nominate individuals who are not physical scientists but have made significant contributions to science or humanity for consideration by the NSPS Governing Council. Members in this category are exempt from annual dues and will receive official publications of the Society. However, they are not eligible to hold office. There is no registration or application fee. The award is entirely free and granted only to deserving individuals. Validity is lifetime.
Active members of the Society may nominate individuals who are physical scientists and have made significant contributions to the field of Physical Sciences for consideration by the NSPS Governing Council for the Fellowship Award of the Society. Nominees must hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent and demonstrate a high level of expertise and accomplishment in their respective fields. There is no registration or application fee. The award is entirely free and granted only to deserving individuals. Validity is lifetime.
