Membership of NSPS is opened in these categories
Applicant must be an Undergraduate student in any tertiary institution recognized by the Council. Applicant must provide a recommendation or an introduction letter from the Head of Department or from any other senior staff from his/her institution. The fee is ₦ 10,000. This membership category has some rights and privileges of an active member but are deprived of holding an office and can not enjoy discount in NSPS publication/ conference fee.
Apply NowApplicants that do not belong in any area of physical sciences but are working in a relevant environment should apply in this category. Senior Secondary School Teachers of Physics, Mathematics and, Chemistry who do not have adequate requirements for a Regular Membership can also apply in this category. The fee is ₦ 15,000. This membership category has the rights and privileges of an active member but are deprived of holding an office.
Apply NowApplicant must have obtained a minimum of a B.Sc. or HND degree in any area of Physical Sciences. The fee is ₦ 20,000. This membership category has the rights and privileges of an active member.
Apply NowAny organization which encourages and promotes the study of Physical Sciences shall be eligible to become a Corporate Member. The fee is ₦ 150,000. This membership category has some rights and privileges of an active member but are deprived of holding an office.
Apply NowApplicant must have obtained a minimum of M.Sc. degree in any area of Physical Sciences. The fee is ₦ 250,000. Since this fee is equivalent to twenty five times the prevailing annual membership dues with no membership fee. Conseqently, members of this category shall be exempted from annual dues.
Apply NowActive members of the society can nominate any individual who has made a significant contribution in any area of Science and Humanity to the NSPS Council. It does not matter if the nominee is a member of the society or not. Members of this category shall be exempted from annual dues and shall receive official publication of the society. They deprived of holding an office.
Applicant must have obtained a minimum of a Ph.D. degree in any areas of Physical Sciences and have at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience. Applicant must have been an active regular member for a period of 5 consecutive years. Applicants who are already a Life Member (LNSPS) and already have a Ph.D. in any area of Physical Sciences do not need to fulfill the above waiting period condition.
