Competition amoung Scholars

-NSPS recognizes the most outstanding Physical Science (Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry) student in Senior Secondary Schools of Nigeria via annual national quiz competition.

-NSPS recognizes the most outstanding researcher of the year in any area of physical sciences. This competition would be open to all Nigerians irrespective of their affiliation to the society. It shall be nicknamed as “Who-is-Who in Nigeria: Discovery Science” Financial support of the award will be subject of the amount approved by the governing council.

Scholarship and Prize

-NSPS awards "young researcher award" on yearly bases to a Nigeria based researcher who carry out state-of-the-art research in any area of physical science and who is less than 40 years in the case of men and less than 43 years in the case of women.

-NSPS awards the best postgraduate (M.Sc. and PhD) thesis of the year to outstanding students who carry out their research in any area of physical sciences of any University in Nigeria, approved by the NUC.

-NSPS supports the postgraduate program (2 years for M.Sc. and 3 years for PhD) of the most outstanding Nigeria student who is willing to study any course within the scope of physical sciences in any of the Nigeria Federal Universities

Research and Conference

-NSPS organizes annual national conferences and journal publication.

-NSPS provides financial support to financially-handicapped students, who are member of the society to attend annual conference of the society or other related international conferences.

-NSPS fosters research interaction among the members and also cooperate with international physical societies to enhance international collaborations.

CURRENT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The Executive Committee of NSPS is made up of seven members which include the President, Vice-President, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Financial Secretary, ICT Manager and Publicity & Protocol. All are elected by NSPS council. The Executive Committee meets twice a year to review activities of the society including financial report, adopt some special clause into the constitution and set priorities and goal for the coming year. Members serve for a maximum of two year. The position of the following executive officers are currently vacant.
