Dr. Inyangβs journey in physics is one marked by focus, growth, and a deep commitment to scientific discovery. His academic foundation was built at the University of Calabar, where he obtained his Bachelor of science Β in Education Physics, Postgraduate Diploma in Physics, Master of Science in Applied Nuclear Physics, and Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics. From this solid foundation, he has continued to build an impressive career in theoretical and nuclear physics, extending his research experience through a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia.
He currently serves in the Department of Physics, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Abuja, where he contributes to teaching, mentorship, research, and academic development. His work reflects the kind of scholarship that connects classroom knowledge with deeper scientific inquiry, especially in areas that require strong mathematical reasoning and a clear understanding of the physical world.
Dr. Inyangβs research embraces some of the most exciting areas in modern physics. His work explores quantum systems, mathematical physics, applied nuclear physics, quantum information theory, particle physics, atomic and molecular processes, environmental radioactivity, and theoretical studies of diatomic molecules. Through these areas, he investigates how particles, energy, radiation, and molecular systems behave, helping to expand understanding in both theoretical and applied aspects of the physical sciences.
His scholarly record is remarkable. Dr. Inyang has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications with more than 70 indexed in Scopus, and his works have attracted over 2,000 citations on Google Scholar. This level of research output reflects consistency, depth, and a strong commitment to advancing knowledge. He has also been recognized among Nigeriaβs top authors by scholarly output, further highlighting his growing impact in the scientific community.
Beyond his publications, Dr. Inyang has contributed to science through peer review, editorial service, conference presentations, professional membership, and mentorship of young scholars. His career reflects not only personal achievement but also a desire to support the growth of physics and strengthen scientific research in Nigeria and beyond.
One quote that captures his philosophy is:
βExcellence is not a destination; it is a habit built through consistency, hard work, and faith in God.β
Away from his professional engagements, Dr. Inyang enjoys reading, playing football, travelling, listening to gospel music, and spending quality time with family and friends. He also values community and church activities, showing a balanced life of knowledge, service, and personal connection.
Looking ahead, his goal is to contribute meaningfully to physics through research that addresses real-life challenges, especially in energy and sustainable development. He also hopes to build a strong research team, mentor young scientists, expand global research collaborations, and support scientific innovation in Nigeria and across Africa.
The Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences proudly celebrates Dr. Etido P. Inyang for his outstanding scholarly contributions, inspiring academic journey, and dedication to the advancement of physics and the wider scientific community.
